What exactly is Lace®® Wallet Extension™®?
It is a browser extension that adds a wallet panel to your toolbar. From there you can hold digital assets, send and receive them, review your history and approve requests coming from decentralised applications — without a separate desktop app.
Do I ever give up control of my keys?
No. Your keys are generated and stored on your own device inside an encrypted vault unlocked by your password and your recovery phrase. Nothing is signed until you confirm it on screen.
How long does setup take?
Around two minutes: install, set a password, write down your recovery phrase, and you are ready to receive your first assets. Restoring an existing wallet takes about the same time.
Is it free to use?
Adding the extension costs nothing. You only ever pay the network fee that the blockchain itself charges for a transaction, and that fee is shown to you before you approve it.
What happens if I lose my device?
Your recovery phrase restores the wallet on any supported browser. That is why it should be written down and kept offline somewhere safe — it is the only copy that can bring your assets back.
